I began my 15 year career as a primary school teacher after completing my BA (Hons) in Education. Whilst working as an Advanced Skills teacher in numerous primary schools in the Midlands, I undertook an MA in Primary Education. This enabled me to work closely with Local Education Authorities and I would spend time assisting in schools that required improvement.

The experience that this gave me was invaluable as I was able to experience many different approaches to education. I have worked in schools in the most deprived catchment areas through to those in the leafiest suburbs, and every one has taught me valuable lessons in how children best succeed. I then went on to become a lecturer in Initial Teacher Training with Birmingham University.

By far my most challenging job has been bringing up my own 2 children and helping them to navigate their educational journey. I now fully understand the obstacles that parents can face in helping their child at home and this inspired me to become a tutor. I have been supporting children in their 11+ journey for over 10 years now and love helping children to reach their full potential whilst also building their self esteem.
